Branding - The brand as the core meaning the modern corporation'
Coca cloa everywhere
Sunlight soap - lever brothers
Endorsement,product placement
IBM started with adding machines and then went into computers
Ford cars not as good at advertiosing
General Motors were better at brand and marketing
Advertising= no cars. real life= nose to tail

Industrial Visit

Working in groups, prepare a 15 minute powerpoint presentation about a chosen product manufacturer. You are to visit to a company or organisation. The subject matter of the presentation is your choice, but the  material must be compiled in such a way as to inform the reader of as many aspects of the company and its products as possible.

A Bulb

Design a container that protects the bulb from accidental breakage whilst being an attractive piece of point of sale packaging.

-75% of the product must remain clearly visible after the product is packaged.

-the piece of packaging should be made from the givencardboard only. No other fixings or materials are permitted.

-Attention should be given to opening and closing the container, and the effective and innovative use of packaging material.

How does one define it?
Designed form offering least resistance to fluidflow. To make more efficient. (save time and energy)

What characterises streamlining?
Streamlined Design.
- dynamic functionalism
- roots in science
-1930s, 2nd world war.
- Solution to economic crisis
- New profession: Industrial design.
